Project 10100 - Call for ideas to help change the World
By K D Mains
Google as part of their 10th Birthday Celebrations have made the call for ideas to help change the World for the better for as many people as possible. Going by the name Project 10100 or "10 to the 100th Project".
The call for ideas to help make the World a better place for as many people as possible is in the same vein as Google TM own philosophy when it comes to the actual Google search engine its self.
Google have strived to make search results better for people making things easier and quicker to find and now Google are taking this same philosophy to a whole new level with Project 10100. So the call is Google want to hear about ideas that can help as many people as possible.
The Project 10100 name comes from Googol the mathematical calculation that Google takes its own name from.
I personally think it is wonderful that Google have chosen to put the 10 to the 100th call out to the public. Google make the statement that studies are showing that the wisdom that helping others is best way to increase happiness makes total sense. Another philoshpy Google with Project Project 10100 are putting into practise in a very real way. Helpingg others to be happy increases ones own happiness and beats just being wealthy and unhappy any day.
Re Project 10100 what are Google TM looking for
There are eight (8) categories in the Project 10100 call for ideas that will change the world for the betterment of as many people as possible. The eight categoiries are - Community - Opportunity - Energy - Environment - Health - Education - Shelter - Everything Else
To quote the Google TM 10 to the 100th Categories page the following is what Google TM are looking for.
Google 10 to the 100th Categories
- Community: How can we help connect people, build communities and protect unique cultures?
- Opportunity: How can we help people better provide for themselves and their families?
- Energy: How can we help move the world toward safe, clean, inexpensive energy?
- Environment: How can we help promote a cleaner and more sustainable global ecosystem?
- Health: How can we help individuals lead longer, healthier lives?
- Education: How can we help more people get more access to better education?
- Shelter: How can we help ensure that everyone has a safe place to live?
- Everything else: Sometimes the best ideas don't fit into any category at all.
